...on that 4th down:
  1. 15+ yard loss after scramble
  2. Pass thrown over receiver's head
  3. Ball thrown 10 yards out of bounds
  4. Pass one hopping a triple covered receiver
  5. Dropped pass
  6. Pass completed over the middle at the 4 yard line
  7. Out to WR at the 2
  8. Screen pass for a loss or short gain
  9. Rex running out of bounds for a 1 yard loss
  10. TD!
If any of those had happened I would have felt we had a chance and just couldn't make a play. That is not how I feel right now. A QB who knows the offense but has never, NEVER, shown any field or game situational awareness is of little use. Those are things that have to come first for a college QB. For a 5th year senior...I don't even know what to say. I'd rather see a full game of Wildcat with Nykiem before I see Rex on the field again. How can anyone on that team or staff have any faith or trust in him?

According to my mathematics that would have given us a 10% chance to score the TD. I would move # 10 to # 15 and find 4 more reasons for us not to score the TD.

What about a field goal try on fourth down?

I still gotta give Dino a little credit, that would have surprised me. (Although I think I've seen something similar in the past?!) Also, we would have needed a timeout to get them on the field.

I don’t like the ire directed at Rex. He should never be the #2 QB of a P5 program. That’s on Dino.
It's really not "ire." More sympathy along with surprise. But any player with offers from Clemson, Florida, Miami and Ohio St. should have been competent enough to be the #2 QB at a P5 school by the time he was a 5th year senior.
Tampa QB Rex Culpepper chooses Syracuse over blue bloods

If you are going to use that pitch play, why not just run the wildcat. Why don't they have any wildcat plays when they don't really have a competent QB. Tucker has good vision, he would do well in the wildcat. The play could line up with Rex in the shotgun and then shift and Rex goes to TE to block. Easy to execute.

You must be as happy as a pig in slop right now. You're the Blue Curtain of the football board.

Sure, always happy when the team I've followed for going on 50 years is the laughing stock of college football.

Eddie, if I woke up tomorrow morning with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now.

Agenda over team, like Blue Curtain and Iggy.

You’re over 50 and still post UMass delusions of grandeur!??!!
Would you have ever thought that the UB Bulls would look like a college football juggernaut and the Syracuse Orange would look like a joke? If you say yes to that, then your Nostradamus. Why can't UMASS get to be as good as UB? Why can't Syracuse be as good as UB?

Apparently, the bloom is off UMass' rose.

First, you say UMass should get into a P5 conference, now you're hoping they can be as good as UBuffalo.

Depends on your definition of “joke.”

To me, repeated posts predicting the ascent of UMass football are a far bigger joke than SU’s performance under Babers.

What else ya got?

I look at UMASS as a franchise in an underserved market. The only market that is underserved in regards to major college football in the country.

I look at your UMass posts as someone overserved in a bar.

Gawd luv ya, you’re a goofy dude and your UMass delusions of grandeur are consistently funny.
