I believe we all had it figured out very rationally before the season began. Most, including this die hard who stays off the board and internalizes the loss, (don't have anyone to yell at), on this board had position losses evaluated in May or before. Most followed Zaire Franklin's Pro Day as I did noting the loss of he and Parris Bennet were going to leave a big hole in the LB area and who was going to be able to carry the load effectively. The WR landscape was discussed even more thoroughly. What were we going to do without Ishmael the All American with all of the receiving records, Ervin Philips - some wishing for a second coming of Amba Etta- Tawo. Who was going to be able to come even close to the aforementioned? Everything was pretty much figured out albeit with some anxiety about the positions along the offensive line then Koda Martin followed his dad to SU and along with some experienced players like Airon Servais, Cody Conway, Sam Heckel,Mike Clark and others and the board seemed somewhat satisfied. And then thee was the Defense, what were we going to do there? A question that still has needs some answers. Robinson, amazing play so far, Williams, Slayton, Coleman same as Robinson. Linebackers Whitner, Guthrie, Armstrong. Corners Bradshaw, Williams. FS Cisco leading the nation in interceptions, Foster and our special team who was going to kick FG's – Andre Szmyt one of the best or the best in the nation and another of the national leaders, Hofrichter NFL bound, rounding it all out Sean Riley one of if not the fastest players on the team who has also done well. So I say after the first 4 games we all felt very good about this edition of SU football and some had very high expectations of this team, this coach and staff. However annihilation of opponents as Dungey expects although a great idea is a great amount of pressure and a lot to expect. I say the very close game at Clemson though so close and two or three crucial penalties no matter what any player says took its emotional and physical toll. I am amazed that we went to Pittsburgh and again led until very late. The bye week is a very welcome sight to heal. We are fortunate to have this team to represent us. We'll do well we'll get that spirit back and shine again in the Dome. It's time for us on this board to give these top athletes their due and stop the useless arguing and second guessing everything. Basketball is just around the corner I wonder who among us will be the first complainer about players or JB? Let it be. Let the coaches coach. It would be wonderful if we could let these players play for us and be ORANGE and be SU as best they can without the negativism that is sometimes displayed on this board at times. Although that is probably never going to happen. Emotion won't let it. But, maybe that's a good thing unless it gets terrible. Remember Clarence, he didn't get his wings for nothing and George finally realized just how good he had it. It's a Good Life for all fans of SU sport. :) GOSU :)
