But if we really have ideas of leaving the Big East with a winning record and a bowl berth in our back pocket, I think that's going to be mighty hard to get to with a 1-3 start. I think any perceived weakness of Big East caliber competition is offset by the desire of these teams to kick our hightailing asses.

That said, I like our chances this week.

Certainly a huge game. However, saying that the NW game continues to haunt us with so much football ahead of us, is extremely premature. And, to quote a famous hoops coach that we are all quite familiar with, "I don't think anything premature is a good thing."

With this program, at this point, every game is a "must-win" because every loss strengthens the "habit" of losing and gnaws at confidence. This team is good enough to win a bunch of games this year, but do they believe it throughout. They need to have a win streak to turn the corner.

Biggest game IMO is the Pitt game. If we lose to Minny we can still go 5-3 against those teams. Beating Minny will make things a whole lot easier though. They really are our last margin of error game.

Northwestern is in the rear view mirror to me, learn from it, improve and kick butt from here with the focus being on Minnesota.

It will really sting if we lose this one. On the other hand, a solid win will do wonders for everybody and we would have a 2 game winning streak!!
