THIS is how you run a college conference...

I don't agree with his vision at all. Why would the big time schools want to share revenue? Why would they want one TV contract, meaning less games on the prime channels? The NFL has 4 buyers. CFB would only have 1 buyer if everyone groups together. Wasn't that the way things used to be until the conferences wrestled control away from the NCAA? Why go back?

I don't think his vision of a united 72 school "league" will happen. I was more talking about what he did for the Pac-12.

The ACC could basically do the same...get Notre Dame and UConn

The Big 12 is stable, there's no one reasonable for the Pac-12 to take now, there's no one reasonable to take outside of raising the SEC and why would they go to 16 when no one else has, and why would the ACC go to 16 when no else has, and why would ND join a conference when they're not forced to.

Notre Dame ain't walking through that door, they don't need to, they don't want to.

Near term, I think this is accurate.

Using the words "stability" and "Big 12" together in the same sentence is, at best, naive. The future of that stability rests mostly on the success or the lack thereof the Longhorn Network.

...and why would ND join a conference when they're not forced to. Notre Dame ain't walking through that door, they don't need to, they don't want to.

Agreed. As stated again recently by Swarbrick, the only thing that will get ND to move on this is restricted access to the NC game. As long as it's open to whoever finishes in the Top 2, they will remain indy. Only a Plus One model where the Top 4 conference champions duke it out in football Final Four to get to an NC game two weeks later will force ND's hands. And that isn't even one of the models being discussed by the Cartel.

Cheers,
Neil
