A pass-happy offense on a rug that's always dry? Oh my!!!!
I hope you're right. Would really like an update or a statement or any thing from Dungey. He's been radio silent. One big thing here: I was told yesterday that if Babers were the hire, it would silence around 95% of the transfer talk among the younger players on the team.
Clearly those people would be idiots, no?Like you, I rejoice in this selection. I just hope he gets support from the community and we don't hear that constant drone by many on these forums..things like "Affirmative Action" Hire...etc. etc., like we heard with Dr. Gross!

Well wow. Good stuffNow with a REAL football coach who has experience as a head coach and who runs a modern era college offense with a proven track record...the one thing to say about Syracuse Football today is "THE SLEEPING GIANT HAS BEEN AWOKEN! " From the dying days of the Pasqualoni era till today, this program has been on a downward spiral and run by fools! With the exception of a couple years Marrone had mild success, this program has had zero direction and been stuck in the dark ages overall. Those days are over, Syracuse with this hire will soon be the TOP football program in the Northeast. UCONN, Temple, and Rutgers will go back to being doormats of football programs and doormats of the Northeast football scene. Pitt and BC over time will take their roles as being programs that are beneath us. And it will be Syracuse and Penn St as the two power football programs in the North East. Within 12-18 months the Northeast College football landscape will get back on it's proper axis with Syracuse as one of the Top dogs in the Northeast. It's been over 10 years of nonsense in regards to Syracuse football and that ended today with this hire.
No more on the job training with first time head coaches who were in over their head from the start. No more bonehead in-game coaching decisions that make zero sense and that are indefensible. No more crazy talk at press conferences. This football program now has a professional and proven head coach with a track record of success who knows what he is doing in this role. This program has a brand new IPF, it will have a new stadium or a renovated stadium soon, and we have a head coach with a winning track record who understands the modern game of college football in the year 2015...the time for excuses are over. The time for winning begins now! The bar has been raised, the expectations have been raised.
You must not read the forums...The constant adjective I heard to describe Dr. Gross was "our Affirmative Action Hire"...I am not making this stuff up...It was ridiculous as it related to Gross...and I damn well hope I don't hear that crap concerning this hire...all I am saying. I can't believe you don't know what I am talking about! This might be the most ridiculous thing I have heard today, period.

For once Syracuse Football won by losing, Frost going to UCF, gave us DINO.

Would be fantastic for sure. Let's not get our hopes up too crazy high just yet. I'm hoping for big things, but it might take a while for things to click. The good news is that he has a great group of young kids on both sides of the ball who are talented. Many of them can show they can play, so now it's a matter of really opening it up and letting them go.
We need to close this recruiting class out strong and get to work asap.
What positions are still needed to fill?
I would guess that we need to add wide receivers to the list, we don't have enough of them for HCDB's scheme.
