However, following the legend, who also had a steady decline, combined with the revolutionary shift in the college basketball landscape (NIL, Portal, etc.) is a triple-whammy.   The good news is that ADJW has seen a likely glimpse of what success can look like via the football team.  I've got to believe there are lessons there that can be applied to the basketball program.  Red should be given every opportunity to succeed.

That being said, this team does not appear to be bought into whatever model Red is trying to build.   There have been too many post game statements about lack of effort, initiative, heart, and 40% range FT shooting for what should be considered a top-tiered program.  Is it coaching, is there poor team chemistry, is the NIL (or lack thereof) a bigger factor? IDK, but hopefully the root problems can be identified and resolved because I'm not fond of the idea that last years 20 wins were more aberration than expectation.
