This week's bowl projections

Military Bowl has been projected for SU this week more than any other bowl. Lot of season left but it makes sense. Pinstripe has moved up in status and may not take us unless we have 8 wins. Quick Lane makes a lot of sense for SU, but they usually pick up a 6-6 team that is final eligible ACC team, and we may be higher in the pecking order. If we go 7-5 I see Military Bowl as our destination.

I’m not sure the Pinstripe would turn us down, unless there was something really great.

We were just there in November...I bet ticket sales would not be as good as the previous years. I hope we get somewhere warmer...if we get to 6.

Good history w/ the bowl + nearby fan base + willingness to play in the cold + bowl drought > having played one game there 1-2 months earlier.

Unless someone like ND is in the mix, that game is basically our bowl.

Pinstripe would take us with 7-8 wins but not six. If a bigger name team like Miami stumbles they may wanna get them, or even the Florida St or Louisville should they get eligible. They’ve already had us twice and may want to grab a team that’s usually a Top 25 level team.

Neither of those schools, esp. FSU, would travel to NYC in Dec to watch the Pinstripe Bowl. And, UL beating us out for a NYC bowl is a joke.

Barring a really great season (and big bowl snub) from BC or Pitt, the Pinstripe Bowl is ours unless the BC rule somehow kicks in, or, unless we go to it a bunch of times in a row.

Not "if" -- when.

Loved our games in the Pinstripe. Believe and hope that we can do better this year.

I think the Pinstripe actually got a pretty good bump as far as bowl quality goes once the new system started. We would get matched up with a decent B10 program. I know it pays pretty well too.

The thing that sucks with the bowl situation is if we want to guarantee a trip to a good bowl we need to be at least 2 games ahead of the "higher ACC draw". We can be a game ahead of say Louisville or FSU, but get screwed because we wouldn't be considered the most attractive option. If we are 2 games ahead it's mandatory they have to select us.

I like most of the ACC bowl tie-ins, but I really want to avoid the Motor City Bowl, Military and Independence

EDIT: Actually the Independence tie in is vs SEC so I wouldn't mind that.

Both times Cuse has filled the stadium for the Pinstripe. Easy trip from CNY and huge NYC alum and fan base
