Somehow I got to the 2002 Va Tech game.

It encapsulates the tremendous frustration of that season - truly great play by Reyes, Rhodes and Tyree.

But utterly maddeningly play by Nunes - a guy with the heart of a lion but the physical ability of a Division III player and the horrific kicking of Colin Barber who missed three FGs and a PAT that day.

Give that team Eric Dungey and Pat O'Neil and the 2002 won-loss record is quite different.

Good thing they didn't have video review of quadry's big 3rd down catch that sealed the game. Don't think there was enough to overturn - but we've seen crazier rulings. It was an almost inhuman catch, you have to think the turf assisted. The irony is graves didn't need to heave it 50 yards. There was no safety help and quadry clearly outran his guy.
