Lots of issues and it isn't a loss because of Cooney. But, vintage Cooney regardless. Three key plays in 2H. Frank late closing on Johnson. Frank late closing on Artis. Both G and both picking up their dribbles beyond the 3 point line around 4:55. Turned the offense into shambles and led to a TO and fast break dunk. Obviously the last brutal Frank TO. I don't disagree with putting Cooney on the bench but it just proves that Frank can't be trusted in crunch time. Just a sad state with our guards. Pitt didn't even play well today, lol. We gave Johnson (who has burned us before) who was heating up so many good looks. See ya next season.

Such a bad TO by Howard. But, the screen by Lydon was also incredibly weak and G faded to the sideline instead of coming to the ball. Either way, thought it was odd having Howard take the ball up in that spot.

We made 10 threes. Outrebounded them. And lost!

When a shooter is open for a 3 against our zone, it's usually because of good ball movement forcing the zone out of position. It's not because Frank was lazy to the spot. The breakdown is usually 1 or 2 passes prior.

Your last sentence is the kicker. Unreal.

I will have to look at the replay. No need to cheat so far over and not shade towards Johnson, IMO.

Perhaps if Howard got more time in the regular season, he'd have been more reliable when we needed it today.

:eat popcorn:

In all seriousness, how many times this year has Howard passed the ball to G coming off a screen by Lydon?

And, allowed yet another opponent's player, a freshman, have a career 24 point day. :(:bang:

Shocked?
Haha JB threw Howard under the bus just now.

Been around many coaches at different levels in 2 different sports. The best ones give all the credit to the players when they win and take the blame when they lose. I can't remember hearing "we have to do a better job as a coaching staff" in a press conference in quite awhile.
