Of the five losses I would say 3 were competitive with one being the OT shoot out with Pitt. Interestingly, two of the next games have been interdivisional. We have drawn NC State in three of the games and beat them once at Carter–Finley Stadium. [B]Defense[/B] Wake is 13 of 15 in the ACC in run defense (we are last). In conference games we are 13th and Wake is 14th. Wake's passing defense is 9th in the ACC and vs conference opponents and non-confernece alike. SU is 7th in all games and 12th in conference vs ACC teams. In sacks we are tied with 11 apiece, while we have one more in conference games (9 vs 8). We have given up 26 sacks allowed (YIKES) while Wake has allowed 19. In turnovers, we are acutally one behind Wake on Net We lead them on TO's gained 17 to 12 but have lost 9 (7 int and 2 fumbles). [B][I]Wake has only lost one fumble and has yet to be interepted this year.[/I] Offense[/B] Here is where we suck bringing up the rear in rushing, passing and total offense, while Wake is 8th, 8th and 5th, respectivley. Wake puts up 36.8 ppg (3rd) and score only 19.8 (last). TOP we both suck bringing up the rear in the ACC. This might be a question of turnovers. If Rex can stop passing to other guys and our guys catch it when on target, we have a chance. In order for this to happen, the OLine has to have a good outing.
