Three Idiots On Sports: Yahoo! Yells Fire In Crowded Theater

Great find Bleeds. I especially enjoyed this paragraph...

"This is a story about drug testing. It isn't about espionage, child rape or murder. You mean to tell me that Robinson and Forde couldn't find a SINGLE one of their precious sources to say, on the record, this is what happened and this is what I know? What could possibly happen to that person? It's not like Jim Boeheim has Paulie Walnuts and Christopher on speed dial and the whistle blower is going to end up in the Pine Barrens. I could find anonymous sources who say Robinson has inappropriate relationships with hamsters, it doesn't make it true."

Unfortunately, we're running out of reliable news sources. SI was able to get people on the record at UCLA. Why not Yahoo? The news world is so fast-paced, and so much information is digested at such a rapid pace, that it's beneficial to write anything. Would we rather have potentially serious news go unreported because sources refuse to go on record, or would we rather have potentially serious stories flying around with no hard, factual accounts? Sounds like something for the Newhouse crowd.

great stuff by them and oh so true. As they say it's lonely at the top and add that everyone guns for ya too. Hopefully none of it sticks and we're laughing all the way to the NC. But the best part about that link you provided for me is the '59 National Championship football listed there off Ebay signed by ED and the team on sale for $45,000! I recently got the another '59 NC ball for around $3k! Gonna have to get insurance for it when I send it to some of the boys from here for some run in their homes...

Well written...thanks for posting it. Their version of this new era media dilemma similar to Whitlock's to the Fine mess.

I think Axe needs to read it. His article last night in the PS was weak as was his lame/pus_y whipped interview with Forde giving Yahoo! Sports so much benefit of the doubt/credibility just because...
