You can't win much with such inefficient passing

I was very excited at the beginning of the year when I thought he made a leap in efficiency.

Now that he's regressed and then some, babers doesn't have any choice. This is Terrell hunt territory without that defense

One of the best things about this offense is going fast in practice and getting lots of responsibility for everyone. Babers did show some foresight here e

Funny how he waited too long to get devito out against wmu and then he waited too long to get him in against nc.

this offense cant live with 50% passing if they are also going to be short throws.. TD didnt really throw that more efficiently but they were further down the field so it moved chains and led to scores.

I think he would have been more efficient on short throws - we just didn't have that luxury

If you consider all throws to be equal, TD didn't throw more efficiently. If you don't take into account where the caught balls are thrown to the receiver, again, you could argue they were similarly efficient. However, TD's caught passes were far more accurately thrown and more difficult throws to make. The kid came in the game and started 7/10 throwing the ball down the field. There's a big difference in the types of balls TD missed and the types of balls ED missed yesterday.

dungey started comp/comp/icomp/overthrow
drop/incomp
comp/comp so in essence 5-7 for 70 yds

it went downhill after that.. still he threw some really nice passes and some duds.
what concerned me more was the not trusting the pocket and just letting the ball go, but the coverage he saw was so much tighter and who knows why that was.

TD has what we need to open up the playbook. Downfield crisp passing, and sideline to sideline with pro like velocity.

The difference is night and day.

That makes me think that TD in a tight window situation will throw the ball and ED will hesitate or run. I think that difference can be a deal maker. TD can make a throw with sizzle while ED has less of an arm and needs more seperation.

Eric was 6.8 yards per passing attempt. Tommy was 9.5 yards per passing attempt. Not even close in terms of who was the more efficient passer yesterday.

If I were a receiver, and this is just how I'd feel, I would prefer TD because I know if I'm busting my butt to get open the ball will get to me. Maybe not always but it going to be thrown. With ED, you see him take off and what's funny is that the O was doing well until ED started to run more. I suppose you could argue the rush forced that but I don't see it that way because if I'm trying to get open give me the ball. I think of it as if you're a big man in hoop and you work your butt off and your point guard is shooting while you about to be open. You want that ball and to me TD is more apt to get it there while ED is more apt to take off.

I was just trying to be nice in replying to the poster who said they were both efficient. Even IF that were true...
