Three straight losses by 15+ points

I looked it up -- this has never happened before in the Boeheim era. The last time was 1969 when we dropped three straight by 15+ to Washington State, Arizona State and Yale.

So I was transferring some old vcr tapes to digital today. Stumbled across a boatload of old games. Watched the 00 SU Gtown game.

Woof. Looked like another era. Started the game with in your shorts M2M, then went zone because g town couldn’t shoot.

Totally different game. But completely different level of players.

Our talent is shockingly bad comparatively.

What’s crazy is, this isn’t one strategy beating the zone, it’s like teams are doing things different from one another and they’re all beating it.

This is good. If the boys get experience with all the ways the zone can get torched they’ll be ready for whatever gets thrown at them in the ACCT.

That comes out to over an average of 10 3s made per game against us in conference play. Overall in the country only 3 teams allow more made 3s per game this year. We also are 183rd in 3pt pct defense at 34 pct.

Last year we were second to last in 3pfg made per game against and 142 in pct d.

Don’t disagree with your take on our talent level, but the talent level and state of play generally in the college game is a pale shadow of 2000.

6th time in last 7 years JB last lost 4 or more games by 15+. (5 games in 2022-23 so far.)

88th all-time loss by 15+ (31 in last 7 years; 57 in 1st 40 years)

Only Original BE teams to never beat us by 15+: Providence

Other BE Teams to never beat us by 15+: Miami, Marquette, Rutgers, USF, and Temple,

Only ACC teams to never beat us by 15+: Wake Forest and Miami

I’m dead serious - I will not watch Syracuse next year if he’s the coach. I’ve already missed about half the games live since Christmas. Some I watched the 15 minute condensed version on YouTube after the fact. Some I didn’t even bother with that.

I’ll still be “following” and popping off here, but watching the games is becoming a complete waste of time. Not remotely fun or entertaining. I’ve got 1 foot out the door. Just like half the team, amiright!!?

the standard for leaving school early has fallen off a cliff...and with it, the level of play in NCAA...it's obvious that would happen, too

We had a stretch in 2009 where we went 3-7 and I think 7 of those games were against top 25 teams and many top 10. It’s funny because there was a time when he could say things like that and it would be true. But this is not a murderer’s row, as was pointed out above.

When the zone has bad players, you can do whatever you want against it. Girard at the top is an unmitigated disaster from a size and quickness perspective.

Reminds me when Boeheim made fun of bus Patterson in a presser for his comments on being close to making free throws.

That team won 7 games against top 25 teams. If you put that team against this schedule it would win the ACC going away.

In fact every season from 09-14 we won at least 5 games against top 25 teams including 8 in 2013. All of those teams would boat race this ACC.
