Prediction

USF at Syracuse, 8 p.m., ESPN2. Who is more desperate for a win? USF, which has dropped four straight, or Syracuse, which has dropped two in a row? I wonder whether the day this game is being played on will make a difference. Syracuse is 2-0 during weekday games this season and had its spectacular performance against West Virginia on a Friday night. USF, meanwhile, fell flat on a Thursday night against Pitt, when this whole streak got started. Bulls fans are going to get their wish. I am going with the home team. Syracuse 24, USF 21.

“They run the ball a lot more than recent opponents, so I’m definitely looking forward to a smash-mouth football game,” said senior defensive tackle Lamar Middleton. This will be the last regular season home game and could potentially be the last home game for many of JMU’s notable players such as center Roane Babington, defensive end D.J. Bryant along with Middleton and Long.

Delone Carter- In case you were wondering why Delone Carter had such a large hiatus from his second and third carry in Sunday's game, Jim Caldwell confirmed that he was benchedfor the fumble on that second carry. Caldwell said he doesn't have any further plans to punish him at this time. Carter had 16 carries in the game and is easily the best option on the worst team in the league. He should be owned in most leagues, but it'll be tough to start him in most standard formats.

Joe Driscoll in Route to the Cuse!

Orangeyes, it's been said many times, but thanks for what you do each day. What a breath of fresh air to read a bunch of stories about SYRACUSE, instead of the pages of drivel about Paterno below.

FWIW, I clicked on the uni link and the guy doesn't miss our all orange duds. And neither do I. I'm looking forward to the guys in the clean classic Syracuse look to knock B.J. Daniels around tomorrow night and reacquaint themselves with the end zone more often than the past two weeks.

Interesting story too about Delone. I was travelling last Sunday and didn't realize he'd been benched for fumbling for the second time in three weeks. Quite odd for him, since he was so good at toting the rock when he was here. Wonder if it's happening in practice too? What an absolute disaster for the Colts this year.

Nice story too on the Legend of 44. But odd that the DO editors didn't catch the error in the quote they used, where they had a guy say "We've got Marrone, and he's kind of brought us back to our roots, all the little traditions of the program, because he played for Don McPherson."

Was that english in the interview with Phil Thomas???

What's with Purdue and our commits? Coleman and now Whigham? I guess it's vindication of the staff to identify early in the process (at least with these two.)

Phil Thomas needs a translator. He speaks really fast.

There are some outstanding prospects out ther and available to Syracuse who would bolster our offense skyward. Two RBs are George Morris and Akeel Lynch. Lynch initiallt chose Boston College and might be difficult to flip. David Perkins is a remote possibility . He was originally thought to be brought in as a RB while others were thinking athlete. If we got him and or Lynch and Morris I wiuld be in favor of trying him as an athlele across the board.
