What Postseason Games do ESPN, CBS, etc. Project for Syracuse? (PS; Mink)

...
Without further ado...

ESPN's Mark Schlabach: Detroit bowl vs. Indiana (Dec. 30 at Ford Field)

ESPN's Brett McMurphy: Detroit bowl vs. Illinois (Dec. 30 at Ford Field)

CBS's Jerry Palm: Military Bowl vs. Connecticut (Annapolis, Md.)

SB Nation: Detroit bowl vs. Tulsa (Dec. 30 at Ford Field)

Bleacher Report: Pinstripe Bowl vs. Maryland (Bronx, N.Y.)

National Football Post : Military Bowl vs. Central Florida (Annapolis, Md.)

Way Too Early ACC Bowl Predictions (bcinterruption; Favat)

...
Don't get too bent out of shape about Boston College's exclusion from both Schlabach and McMurphy's way-too-early projections. The bar is so low (6 wins) and the schedule manageable enough (CSU is a solid opponent, but a 3-1 non-conference record is assumed to go along with BC's eight games in Massachusetts) that I'm not too worried about the Eagles reaching a 6-6 mark next season. If BC gets to six wins, they'll find a spot in a bowl game.

Boston College's one true believer, Jerry Palm, has the Eagles opposite Tulsa in the new Detroit Bowl. Catch the excitement!

Where these bowl projections are mildly informative is in showing how college football's postseason will work in the first year of the College Football Playoff. Some ACC bowl selection specific changes for this coming season.

SEC Counters ACC Early Signing Period Plan with Their Own, and It Isn't So Early (ESPN; Aschoff)

If the college football recruiting landscape does change, the SEC made sure this week that it will be ready.

A couple of weeks after watching the ACC propose an early signing period to begin on Aug. 1, the SEC on Wednesday offered its own recommendation to have a signing day on the Monday after Thanksgiving.

SEC commissioner Mike Slive said he hopes there won't be an early signing period, but if there is, he wants his league to be prepared.

The league wasn’t happy about the ACC’s proposal for an earlier signing period because of how it would change the recruiting calendar, something the SEC absolutely doesn't want. The league also decided that in its model, it would ban official visits for recruits who want to sign early, therefore lessening the pressure and clutter of having overstocked official visits during the season and on game weekends.

Podcast: ACC Football 2014 Season Preview for BC (TNIAAM; Cassillo)

You might remember last summer, when John and Dan previewed our new ACC football foes each week in the lead-up to the 2013 football season. Well, that went well enough that we decided to do it again, but with some help this time...

This week, John Cassillo, Dan Lyons and special guest Dan Rubin (of BC Interruption) dive into ACC football previews, starting with Boston College. Our long-time rivals are replacing a good deal of pieces on offense, and how they'll deal with that becomes the crux of the conversation. Additionally, John, Dan and Dan discuss the #OrangeEagle trophy, ACC quarterback trends and (of course) beer. Some other topics may include...

Pitt Projected to Finish Fourth in the ACC Coastal (RS; Kelley)

Entering their second season in the ACC, the Pittsburgh Panthers seem to have as good of odds of making an appearance in the ACC Championship as anyone in the Coastal division. There may be a few teams in the Coastal with slightly more talent than the Panthers, but it would not be by much. Pitt will need a few breaks to go their way, but they look poised to make some noise in the ACC this season...

Massive NJ OL Sam Madden Still Considering Syracuse (BR; Donohue)

...
Madden, rated a 4-star prospect by 247Sports, ranks among the most coveted bookends in America. His expansive offer sheet continues to grow, as Louisville, South Florida and Indiana each offered in May.

The stack of scholarships, which began piling at a rapid pace after his sophomore season, suddenly stands nearly as high as the imposing athlete.

Miami, Wisconsin, Nebraska, West Virginia, Rutgers, South Carolina and Syracuse are just a small sampling of teams on an offer sheet that features nearly two dozen universities.

How Syracuse Fared in its First Year in the ACC (OF)

Following Syracuse’s loss to Maryland in the NCAA women’s lacrosse championship game, most of the Orange athletes are entering the offseason. Syracuse’s first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference has come to a close. But just how successful were a lot of the teams this year? Let’s take a look across all Orange sports at how Syracuse fared in its ACC debut.

Bleacher Report is just so awful. No one - and I mean NO ONE - is clamoring for that in-season SU-MD rematch.
