John Raymon Continues Rehab, But Scott Shafer Says Playing in 2014 is 'a Longshot' (PS; Mink)
Syracuse defensive tackle John Raymon, who missed the second half of last season after suffering a severe knee injury, is continuing his rehab this summer but might not be available for the 2014 season.
"It will be a longshot," Syracuse coach Scott Shafer said Wednesday. "We're trying to take it day by day. I think that's the healthiest way to approach it."
Raymon was injured late in the first half of a 56-0 loss at Georgia Tech on Oct. 19. He was taken off the field on a stretcher. At the time, Shafer said recovery time would take a year.
"We're trying to really increase all of his rehab and really get him strong and healthy and also tend to his emotional needs that all these kids have," Shafer said. "He's doing well. He lost some weight. It's going to be a long process.

Poll: Should Syracuse Welcome Malik Brown Back? (PS; Bailey)
Malik Brown's decision to transfer from Tennessee, and willingness to look into Syracuse, caused quite the stir in our comments section, as well as on other platforms across the Internet.
For those who haven't been keeping up with it, Brown, a three-star defensive end from Dwyer (West Palm Beach, Fla.) High School, was a centerpiece in SU's 2013 recruiting class that flipped to Tennessee on National Signing Day. Brown cited the departures of Doug Marrone, John Anselmo and Steve Morrison as the reasoning behind his decision, while also praising the Volunteers program.

ACC
ACC Fans Choice: ND or WVU (atlanticcoastconfidental; caffrey)
The current ACC is 15 schools, one of which is Notre Dame. Notre Dame participates fully in all sports, with the exception of football. As we all know, the Fighting Irish are committed to play 5 schools a season in football. West Virginia is a full member of the Big XII. The Mountaineers athletic relevance has decreased substantially since making the geographically-unfriendly move. The question for ACC fans–if West Virginia were to make overtures about joining the ACC… would you rather have West Virginia full-time (allowing an addition of UConn to get to 16 teams) or Notre Dame (in its current form)?
Notre Dame presents a level of football cache that West Virginia does not. It is an elite football institution. West Virginia has had significant football success, but Notre Dame is Notre Dame.

Syracuse Crushing It on the Recruiting Trail (CFBroundtable.com; Zarpentine)
It’s still early in the recruiting process for the class of 2015, but Scott Shafer and the Syracuse Orange are crushing it on the recruiting trail. The Orange are experiencing unprecedented success in the recruiting arena, at least in the modern era of recruiting websites and 24/7 coverage, and that success is further evidence that Shafer is continuing what Doug Marrone started, and re-building Syracuse into a nationally-relevant program.
As of June 1, Syracuse has eight verbal commitments in the class of 2015, which is an unbelievable number compared to past seasons for the Orange. Since Marrone’s first full recruiting class in 2010, Syracuse has never had more than three players verbally committed by the end of May, right before the summer recruiting season starts to heat up. To have eight verbal commitments at this stage of the recruiting process is a huge feat for Shafer and the Orange, and a sure-fire sign of progress for Syracuse football
