Funny thing is, despite the fact that some here criticized SS for his behavior, this may have been the play that will be defined as the turning point of our season.
I think HCSS and staff used it as a motivational tool at half time. We took it to Clemson in the 2nd half and definitely should of have at least two additional scores. I believe that the NCST game was more lopsided than the score indicates. Hopefully, the trend continues today in Atlanta!
That thought never crossed my mind.I am positive I am in the minority here. But, although I love the intensity of HCSS, his public tirade about Clemson running up the score at halftime sends the wrong message to the players/fan. To me it was like yelling "FU Dabo, you already won the game." That may be true. Despite how the players responded, do you really want your players and fans to know that is what you are thinking?

I think SS was pi$$ed because 99% of all college coaches take the field goal at that point of the game.
Disagree. People misinterpret the outburst in my opinion. He didn't yell when they went for it. He yelled when WE stopped them. He was basically saying, in your face you cocky bas tard. I just don't see anything wrong with that message .and similar sentiments are spewed in just about every sporting contest since the dawn of time.
I guarantee you that his tirade did nothing but increase his stature with his players. I'm sure he explained to them that if he had it to do over...he wouldn't have done it...but the players love his passion.I am not so sure about that. The larger point is that, when you are at the receiving end of that run up (especially before halftime!!), keep your freaking mouth shut publicly and talk to your kids about pay back behind closed doors. Learning curve stuff for a new HC.
Apparently, SS disagrees with you based on his apology for his reactions. The fact that those sentiments have been "spewed since the dawn of time" is irrelevant to HC's being held to a higher standard. Now, if Dabo had taken a knee there, SS should have punched him.
