Great job with the play calling. Seemed really tuned in and getting the plays in early to the qb. I would give him an A for today
Absolutely. Every play was snapped with 15-20+ seconds left on the play clock.Great job with the play calling. Seemed really tuned in and getting the plays in early to the qb. I would give him an A for today
Yes, that was noticeable.Absolutely. Every play was snapped with 15-20+ seconds left on the play clock.
Beside the superior QB play there wasn't much difference A couple plays here and there but I have a feeling McDonald wouldn't have called all those crazy plays if his QB had better accuracy like Long did...
One thing I did like was he didn't exchange people for the sake of changing people...

This is what I've been waiting for for two years, so I'm ready to give high marks.
That said, B for Lester. Those sweeps to Moore in the first half were rough. Otherwise, good game. Looking forward to Wake, wish it weren't a week away.
I think that may be the real answer.Well then McDonald should've picked a different qb
I'm having trouble trying to think of What plays on offense. That is definitely progress.
A false start on the d line playing offense?
We were 9 TD's in 19 trips into the red zone coming into today (very bad) and some said it was a big reason for McDonald getting axed.
We were 0-4 today. Needs to get corrected quickly.
I want Lester to succeed. I just think people are giving him a little to much accolade based upon today's performance. Long, Wilson, Phillips, West and Ishmael all played great.
I hope we put it all together next week.
He did not have enough time prior to this game to change the red zone offense significantly. I think you will see some changes next week and beyond.This.
Lester called a good balanced game, with good pacing, and it was more entertaining. But we still fell short when it counts; scoring in the red zone. Is it personnel, play calling, or that we were playing the #1 team? Who knows.
But I can't give him an A till we start scoring more effectively.
Had not previously seen the power package inside the 5 with Sugar Bear at TE. Unfortunately a motion penalty put the package right back to the sideline.Half our fails in the red zone were INTs, not Lester's fault. Our TE was one foot down from having a TD and our o line was one false start from maybe punching it in from close. It just can't all be on Lester, just like it wasn't all on Mickey D. The players have to finish.
But Lester DID improve on a lot of the things within his control today. Plays in on time, the play calling made good sense and he put personnel in a position to succeed. Control the things you can, that's a great start.
