That's an average per team of 501 total yards, 227 on the ground and 274 through the air, producing 35 points.
This is modern football. Alabama kept punting and pinning Ohio State deep in their own territory, hoping for a turnover, and what they got out of it was an 85 yard touchdown run that gave Ohio State control of the game. You'll note that running the football was very much part of the plan. But it certainly wasn't three yards and a cloud of dust football. These teams use the pass the spread the defense and then run through the gaps.

I think we're trying to do something like this but with a lot less talent and blocking schemes that don't make much sense. We need to do things more quickly and more efficiently to get back in the race. of course with our injuries this year, our car was up on concrete blocks with no tires. But even with healthy players there's a loot of work to be done before we can compete with what we saw today.
