Just stumbled across an episode of Fatal Vows on ID Network (Directv ch 285) about Tommy Kane killing his wife. Must have missed that tidbit about a past SU star WR.

Just stumbled across an episode of Fatal Vows on ID Network (Directv ch 285) about Tommy Kane killing his wife. Must have missed that tidbit about a past SU star WR.

A few things:

TK killed his wife in a domestic argument in 2003. Stabbed her with a kitchen knife in front of his mom and her friend.

Apparently he was suffering from depression and was a heavy cocaine user. Was in a mental hospital for 5 weeks. He had also suffered several concussions while playing football which may have contributed to the mental instability.

He got 18 years for manslaughter.

He assaulted a female police officer while at Syracuse, but was only given community service.

Donnie McPherson was interviewed for the episode.

I guess this was another tragic case of a ex-NFL football player tied to domestic violence after their career ends. HBO Real Sports just did a story on how the rates of domestic violence for ex-NFL players occur at a significantly higher rate than normal.
