Dicky Moegle is still with us. here is his version of the play:



Alabama had swamped SU in the previous year's Orange Bowl 6-61 but they were headed downhill. In 1955 they were 0-10 and outscored 48-256. Auburn beat then that year 26-7, 34-7 the next and 40-0 in 1957 when the War Eagles won the national championship. Then the Tide hired Bear Bryant. They won the national title in 1961 and beat Auburn 34-0.
