Don't like being melodramatic, but that's how I see it. Unfortunately, stubbing our toe in winnable games such as NW, Minn, and Rut has really put the team in a hole. In order to get to 6 wins and bowl eligibility, we need to win the two easiest games remaining on our slate against USF and Temple.

Lose tonight, and that's probably it for our bowl aspirations, barring the unforeseen [and it seems to me that if we can't beat NW, Minn, USF, etc. that it is unlikely that we're going to somehow rally to beat Lou / Cinn / Mizz].

Big one tonight--LGO!!!

Agree, but isn't that all of the games going forward? We need beef at least in terms of bowls and moving the program forward. I would like to see bj Daniels spend most of his evening counting the lights at Raymond James stadium.

It is true to an extent for all the games going forward. But it is unlikely [not saying impossible] that we beat Louisville--best team in the conference--or Cinci / Mizz on road. Could those things happen? Possibly. And given the hole we've dug for ourselves, we're going to need to win one of those games to go bowling.

But it is going to be a lot easier to win ONE of those three games than it will be to have to win two of those three if we blow it tonight.

Just win baby.

Tonight is a big game. There is no room left for losses. At least Tampa is almost like a home game with all of the displaced northerners. I hope the team can focus and play one game at a time. They need to win this game before thinking about what comes next.

Completely agree--good post.

we need to split one of the next two but this one is probably the better chance

It is big

but I feel it is going to be a blowout - good or bad? ... that I am unsure of. I just feel like one team is going to launch the home stretch of their season tonight with an impressive win.

That's pretty much how I see it.

Sucks that our two winnable games are both roadies.

Apparently you don't read the board. Rutgers is considerably better than us and was not a winnable game.

Other that that, good post.

Of course, I don't believe that BS about Rutgers. ;)

Me neither--we were better than them, and outplayed them in many respects. We shot ourselves in the foot--again--and it cost us a "W"

Wouldn't remotely surprise me to see Kent State hang on and deal them a loss, even though Rutgers is playing at home.

And it wasn't just this year. We should have beaten them last year as well.

Kent St. up by 18 points now. 5 interceptions by Nova and Coleman fumbled as well. 35-17 right now.

It also greatly decides whether we are looking for a new coach too.

This is not a game a guy in year 4, who is line for a cheap bowl and a positive bigeast season, loses.

It's very simple, WIN, or here come the pitchforks and angry mob.

Agreed--lose tonight, and that pretty much puts a fork in our bowl chances. Not saying that we still couldn't qualify, but the road becomes that much steeper--almost to the point where it is tremendously unlikely.

Lose, and not just this forum but the fanbase overall will probably melt down.

Need to win.

Our offense has to put points on the board. We are stopping our ourselves so, what's new.
