This game was a classic 2013 season loss. Decent pitching and no offense. Singles at the right time win games. Solo homeruns by a guy who gets lucky and runs into a pitch by accident isn't near enough.Ther a few FA I would give qualifying offers and hope they get signed elsewhere for draft choices. Ichiro and Reynolds are two of them. When Granderson is healthy he gives you the home-run punch and strike out numbers. We don't need Reynolds for that.We have some kids who deserve a chance and its far less expensive to give them a shot than to try and sign these guys. Ichiro looks tired as does Kuroda. It looks like the Japanese models are running low on gas and running on reputations now. Brendan Ryan looks solid on defense. I have to believe the hitting coaches can get his BA up to .250 or so.Who knows if Cano gets signed? Itsvnot looking good at this time.The Yankees need a George Steinbrenner type of owner and leadership. Independently wealthy and not looking for the Yankees to make him money but to win for his own ego.
