7. Syracuse
Hakeem Lecky (15G, 2A) Speed, quickness and slickness — traits Lecky has possessed since arriving in Syracuse. What’s always evaded is a consistent shooting touch; in the moments it’s appeared, his game has been tantalizing.

Henry Schoonmaker (14G, 3A) Expect Schoonmaker to step pretty seamlessly into Scott Loy’s role because that’s essentially what he brought to the second line — a big, powerful dodger who can get into the teeth of the defense and get a good shot off.

Nicky Galasso (13G, 4A) After working in primarily by inverting, Galasso threatened defenses down the stretch with his alley dodging. If he can consistently draw a slide and skip to the backside on the run, Galasso has the prospect of being one of the more dangerous middies in college lacrosse.

Depth: Ryan Simmons, Tim Barber, Nick Weston and Derek DeJoe all provided pop vs. Siena. Sophomore Jordan Evans’ contribution remains one of the biggest swing factors for the Orange. Redshirt freshman Hayes McGinley is big, and the coaching staff is excited about his prospects.

Any word on Evans? Wonder if he is back practicing yet.

Thanks. I was being optimistic. Hope he can get, and stay, healthy this season. Very curious to watch his development this year.
