Having said that, his development of certain players has left much to be desired.  Once a player is in his dog house he seems to remain there. When he constantly inserts a player into the game and they make one mistake, the player is immediately pulled; that kills the player's growth.

Sports have a strong mental component and one-size fits all approach is utilized then some respond in the negative and it kills their growth, as players.

All humans are blind to some of the things they do and how it affects others, JB is no different.
In the case of developing players; his rigid approach to the limited number of players who have meaningful times, in games, to develop severely limits the growth of some.

Tyler is not the only one who has been treated, in this manner, and whose development was placed on hold or even diminished, over time, by this type of old-school coaching.

JB deserves all the accolades he gets for building us into the perennial power we are, in hoops. That doe not mean he is without flaws; nor are any of us.
