Track and Field | 12/16/2014 10:57:00 AM | Track Unveils 2015 Slate The Syracuse track and field team released the remainder of its 2014-15 schedule on Tuesday, including three trips to Cornell, two to Boston and meets at Penn State, in New York City and the SPIRE Institute highlighting the indoor schedule. The Orange, who previously ran an early season meet at the Greg Page Relays at Cornell on Dec. 6, will return to action at the Gotham Cup at the Armory in New York City on Friday, Jan. 16 to kick off its 2015 slate. Regine Hunter will look to defend her crown in the triple jump, which she won in her collegiate debut at the event last season. Syracuse will then trek to Ithaca, N.Y. for the second of five times between both the indoor and outdoor seasons to compete in the Cornell Upstate Challenge on Jan. 24. It's another meet 'Cuse competed in last season, taking first in seven events last year. The following weekend, Syracuse will compete in a pair of events, with some members of the team competing at Penn State and others heading to the Boston University Terrier Classic. Both meets are two-day events, with the action beginning on Friday, Jan. 30. After taking its only week off during the indoor slate, Syracuse will double up again on Valentine's Day, taking on the SPIRE Division I Invitational in Geneva Ohio and the Boston University Valentine Invite, before concluding the regular season on Feb. 21 at the Marc Denault Invitational, which is hosted by Cornell. The Orange will head to the ACC Indoor Championships in Blacksburg, Va. on Feb. 27 and 28, with those reaching the qualifying marks in their respective events taking part in the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. two weeks later. Syracuse will open its outdoor schedule the first weekend in April with a trio of meets. The team will take part in the Princeton Sam Howell Invitational (Feb. 3-4), the Stanford Invitational (Feb. 3-4) and the Auburn Tiger Classic (Feb. 4). Next, Syracuse will head to Miami to take part in the Hurricane Alumni Invitational (April 11) and the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational (April 17 and 18) before running in the historic Penn Relays from April 22-25. 'Cuse will make another two trips to Cornell in consecutive weeks, while simultaneously competing in the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford on May 2. The outdoor regular season will conclude with a mid-week meet at Duke on Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7 before the Orange returns to Florida to compete in the ACC Outdoor Championships at Florida State (May 14-15). The NCAA East Region Preliminary Round will also take part in Northern Florida, taking place from May 28-30 in Jacksonville. The NCAA Championships will again take part in Eugene, Ore. from June 10-13. The Orange had six student-athletes compete at the NCAA Championships last season with Sarah Pagano's seventh-place finish in the women's 10k highlighting the meet for Syracuse.
