“I have watched Jim Boeheim coach, and I can’t even comprehend Jim coaching in the ACC,” Tranghese told Bill Rhoden of the New York Times. “It’s like a foreign thought.

“To be honest with you, my fondest hope is I’d love to see Syracuse win the national championship and Jim get the heck out because I hope he never coaches a game in that league.

Interesting hypothetical though ... if you were offered it today, would you take a guaranteed Nat'l Championship right now if it meant JB retires?

I think I would if it meant beating UK in the final game.

He's such a whiny pathetic man. His incompetence got us to this point.

I want JB to win an ACC title so freaking bad.

And I'm so glad we have john swofford as our commissioner rather than these idiots from providence.

Glad to know Tranghese is confirming he watched Boeheim coach...

I guess he's some sort of expert.

Too bad he wasn't as deft in handing the reigns of the Big East over to anyone with a modicum of forward-thinking and conference management ability...

cuseism, I can make up words to. Mine means- to be completely awesome

What mind your own business and let the man retire when he wants to, its obvious he is still coaching at the highest level. (you know 30-1) If he wanted JB to retire as a BE coach then he should have done his own job rather than sheeting the bed.

modicum |ˈmädikəm; ˈmōd-|
noun [in sing. ]
a small quantity of a particular thing, esp. something considered desirable or valuable : his statement had more than a modicum of truth.

I know its a word, but I did have to google it. I had just never heard of it before. Dude is clearly intellectually superior to yours truly.

Yes. 100%

Yes, crazy not too, national championships don't come easy

That is a foolish question to ask. Would you rather have a gauranteed NC or 5 more Sweet Sixteen exits? The peak for any d-1 coach is a Final Four followed up with an NC. He would be smart to walk away if he can win it.

Yes... This season would be one for the ages.

Yes I would take a NC if it meant Boeheim riding off into the sunset because I think Hop is ready and would have all the ammo he needs to stay elite.

only if Boeheim is Ok with it. Would be one hell of a tough trade off.

No. I would hold out for BET championship as well, 39-1.

Zagoria is quoting from a NY Times article this morning on the history and current state of the BE. It's a very good read. Trained Monkey is quoted extensively in the piece and there is a lot of revisionist history going on there. My favorite quote is when he's asked something like, "if you had to do it over again knowing everything you do now and that FB was the real driving $$$ force what would you do ? Trained Monkey says "I have no idea". I actually spit out my Apple Jacks laughing when I read that. Told me everything I needed to know right there.

Yes.

That comment just confirms once again what a loser Trained-geese is. Nobody is more responsible for the decline and undoing of the Big East than that moron.
