Transfer portal: SU Football vs SU Basketball

Was just thinking how it was so odd that Football was coming off a 1-10 season and only lost one (Jordan) or two (Hackett) guys that they wanted and would be contributors. This is with an 85-man roster and tons of positions. We kept our whole DL even though they were all seniors and could have easily moved on with their lives if they were unhappy.

In contrast, the basketball team is fresh off a sweet 16 appearance and is currently projected to lose close to 3/4 of the team to transfer. This includes our best PG and all our forwards (though Guerrier would be to the NBA and could return).

You could argue it's apples and (Syracuse) Oranges, but the players sticking around through Spring ball says 2 things to me.
1. They like the HC
2. They feel like they'll be given a legitimate chance by him to compete

I have major doubts that several of the guys, such as Kadary or Griff would hang around if Basketball had the equivalent of a Spring Practice.
