Nice story here about Brian and Mary Cooney... who have attended all but one of Trevor's SU games (the blizzard at Charlottesville this year).

They are two delightful people whom I've gotten to know fairly well... and with whom I spent a lot of time in Atlantis (it seemed like we were the only SU people who arrived there four days before the games began).

Looking forward to their on-court appearance on Saturday ... and hope to see them many times in the post-season.

They should be very proud of their son. The kid is obviously a very hard worker...possibly to a fault at times. One thing I will always remember about Cooney is that he is perpetual motion on the court...constantly trying to get open on the offensive end. In my opinion, nobody in recent SU memory had that specific trait with the exception of Lawrence Moten.

I will be sorry to see him go (as will my 8 year old). Here's hoping he can catch lightning the rest of the regular season and into the post to solidify his legacy in the eyes of some.

do we ever see them in the crowd shots ? i know gerry's folks and the scranton crew always got a lot of air time in the bleachers. gerry's mom always seemed to be enjoying herself and gerry's dad sat arms crossed and stone faced !
i'm sure they're there but i wouldn't recognize trevor folks. are they camera shy or just not covered as much joyce ?

Boy you are right. In that picture, it looks like Trevor's mom just got through reading this message board.

"I cant believe what corduroyg said about my little trevy. That motherf'er is gonna pay. Hes probably 30 and still lives in his mommys basement while he criticizes my son who's playing in front of 30k every nite. That little punk"

You occasionally see them in crowd shots at away games where they generally sit in the vicinity of the SU bench. At home games, they sit in the temporary bleachers, and those seats are hardly ever on tv (except for the backs of heads).

Always liked Trevor Cooney, no one works harder. He's been the resident whipping person for the board and SU fans in general and I don't believe he deserves it. One every year seems, Burgan, Hart, etc...

Only because your phone wasn't letting your texts get to me. I was less than 200 yards away!

Great Parents. I played with guys in high school who's parents didn't even come their games in their own hometown.
When my sons play soccer against the city schools, rarely do any parents show up. Those that do are usually the Slovik parents.

As I recall, the problem was with YOUR phone. I was getting your texts fine... and responding to them. Every so often, Barbara would say: "Have you heard back from Adam?" And I would reply: "Nope, I guess he just doesn't want to meet us for lunch (or a drink... or whatever we had invited you for)." :):):)

Kids like Trevor are blessed. The live and support they have provided will forever play a part in who he is as a person. His work ethic and passion combined with his solid foundation will serve him well beyond his SU career. We are fortunate to have kids like him in our program.

Also a shout out to Mike Sutton's dad who attends the majority of home and away games. Showing support for a son that is not likely to play
