Triche foot injury

I don't have any inside information, just what WAER reported during the game last night.

They said that Triche has a lingering foot injury... the reason that his minutes have been limited the past couple of games. May have affected his play in recent games.

It would make sense. Seemed to be missing something when trying to finish in the paint vs. Bucknell. I never understand in situations like this why they don't just sit a player down. Limiting minutes seems like the definition of a half-measure, right? Either sit him or determine that he just needs to play through it and play him. Seems to happen all the time in hoops.

I think JB has some sort of fear of not starting Triche for any reason, so he has to be out there starting even with inuries. If he doesn't start it might kill his confidence

He did the same thing with Onuaku a couple years ago (might have been the Oakland game) - Boeheim said he was hurt, didn't start him, then brought him out for like three minutes.

Seems foolish. It depends on the particular injury, of course, but there's no sense playing a guy who's banged up this week.

I'm not surprised by this injury report; Triche has appeared to have diminished lift for the past few games. Sit him down and get him healthy.
