Trill Williams and Josh Black Press Conference | Aug 13

Williams on this season: "The first word that comes to mind is it's going to feel weird. ... It feels like we're going to be one of the only teams playing." Mentioned having friends in the Big Ten and knowing they're not going to play.

Williams on being a CFB player during te coronavirus pandemic: "This is new for everybody so it's just about getting adjusted and, like football, how fast you can accept coaching."

Williams: "As a whole team, we just want to be safe, to be able to go out there and play and know we're going to be alright." Said the team is taking it one day at a time.

Williams said he's going to play as long as there's an ACC season. Didn't really get into his personal decision to play and the variables he considered. Re FSU: Williams said he hopes other schools follow SU's lead. Also emphasized that he knows it's out of the SU players' hands.

Williams believes everyone currently practicing plans on playing this year. The question, obviously, is who is not currently with the team. Don't expect anyone will answer that one besides Dino Babers (or those specific individuals).

Williams is asked about SU potentially boycotting a game this year if an opponent's specific safety measures aren't up to standard: "My honest answer is I don't know. ... When that comes, we'll have an answer.

Josh Black on now. Running through SU's procedure. Daily temperature check and symptom check. "We've got everything here we need to test accurately and we feel really safe with what our university is doing to get us on the practice field every day."

Black said he's going to play as long as there's a season. Similar phrasing to DeVito, Elmore, Williams.

Black said he's aware of potential long-term issues from contracting Covid-19, but he currently feels safer on campus than back home in Illinois. Again: that obviously changes once a potential season starts.

Black said he feels like it's a "blessing" to have a chance to play this year. As a redshirt senior, he thinks it's critical for his goal of playing in the NFL.

Black specified third-party testing and mandatory procedures/protocol across the ACC as items he and his teammates want to see installed before the season. He said it's not only about safety within the locker room, but across the conference and country in general.

Yikes -- my heart sank when I saw this thread title.

Sounds like it is just a "routine" presser.

might as well cancel Liberty now, the players are smart and want everything done that can keep them as safe as possible, no way Liberty has been doing/will do what is needed, and we will see about the rest of the ACC.

Gotta wonder how focused on football any team is right now. It's a tough sport to be playing when more than half your focus is on a virus and its medical protocols.
