Regarding the flip, I'm behind on the board so am not sure if this has been discussed. My first thought is that he got nervous when he stopped hearing from his recruiter and position coach, Brumbaugh & Conley. Could their eventual dismissal be leaving a gap in the recruitment of players involved with them? Were there other issues such as grades or that the staff recruited over him ( haven't studied the LB situation recently). Is this similar to the Ray Rice situation where there was a gap of communication between hires? With Ray he did not hear from Chris White during the days following Coach P's dismissal. Shady got right on the attack, never let up and showed Ray the love he felt he lost from Syracuse.

Dan is still on staff, and from what I've been told he has a job going forward if he wants it. Contracts expire 2/1, and as far as I know they are both still working.

That is far different than what had been reported before (both contracts were expiring 12/31) and the job offer. What do you think changed things? If so I'm very glad for Dan. I had heard several things with different scenarios. Hopefully, whatever areas of concern there were, have been cleared up.

Assuming all of you information is up to date then I got some bad information from a reliable source.

When it was reported that Dan had been fired it was also reported that he had been offered a non coaching position. About a week later it was reported that Dan had in fact had that offer pulled because he was found to have been looking for another coaching job. My guess is that Dan may have been provided with another chance to accept the non coaching position. Im pretty sure he hasnt been actively involved in recruiting
