After the basketball coaches broke from their morning meeting, Florida State's Leonard Hamilton stayed behind for about 20 minutes with the ACC's two newest coaches - Jim Boeheim of Syracuse and Jamie Dixon of Pittsburgh.
Those two schools won't start competing in the league for at least another year, but their coaches are attending their first ACC meetings this week.
"I think this has been good - to have those guys included," Hamilton said. "They bring some different perspectives to the meetings that I believe is (beneficial)."

Cellceutix, a biotech company at the Cummings Center, has a new company adviser: Syracuse University basketball coach Jim Boeheim. Cellceutix is developing a cancer treatment drug, and Boeheim is a prostate cancer survivor who has raised a lot of money for cancer research.
All of which reminds us of another Boeheim-Beverly connection.
The Syracuse coach visited Beverly High in 1979-80 to recruit Peter Wynne, the late Beverly High hoops star who went on to play for the Orangemen.
