Former Player

Dowling has the potential to shut down one side of the defense, and that would allow Patrick Chung, Steve Gregory and Tavon Wilson to help out the defense in other roles, especially in covering tight ends and running backs run shorter routes
.
Wilson played the strongest amongst the Patriots' safeties, intercepting a pass and not allowing a reception on three targets. Wilson started eating into Gregory's snaps, playing 34 to Gregory's 51. Gregory struggled, allowing two receptions on two targets for 26 yards. He was also late to help out over the top a couple times, as was Chung. Chung allowed one touchdown reception for 24 yards on three targets.

SU fans might remember Pitt offered Rochester Aquinas DB Jahmahl Pardner a scholarship late last recruiting season after losing a DB recruit to NC State (Syracuse did not offer ).

FYI, Jahmahl cracked the two deep at CB for the Panthers and played in the first 3 games for Pitt. He had 3 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble recovery before tearing an ACL against V Tech. His mom's maiden name is Gause; holy cats are there a lot of Gause connections in Rochester football.

Anyway, we might have missed a good one here. He should be eligible to redshirt this year and play 4 more seasons, so get used to hearing his name. In the ACC.
