Delone Carter: Delone Carter gets 14 touches in Week 5
Colts run offense gets a D+
In his place, Indy split the work between Delone Carter and Disappearing Donald Brown, and you know what? Brown was actually the better player (eight carries for 38 yards, compared to 12 for 22 for Carter). However, it was clear that Carter will be the Colts' preferred option near an opponent's goal line, though I can't promise they'll get there often against the Bengals next week. This will almost certainly be a split, at least until one of the young rushers asserts himself.

Cornerback Orlando Scandrick (ankle) and wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring) missed the last three and two games because of injuries but will be back Sunday, as should fullback Tony Fiammetta, who did not play against Detroit because of a hamstring injury.

Andrew Dees UMass recruiting coordinator and running backs coach
Chargers coach Norv Turner said he'll carry a fourth running back on the active roster after playing through extensive injuries at the position Sunday against Denver. The injury situation got so bad that Jacob Hester was the only rusher and tight end Randy McMichael moved to fullback on a few plays. Turner could activate Jordan Todman, or sign Curtis Brinkley or Frank Summers off the practice squad. Brinkley and Summers have NFL game experience.
