The Kaleb Joseph Story: From Nashua Bookworm Assassin to SU PG (PS; Carlson)
Two figures walk wordlessly toward the old wooden gym.
Hooded sweatshirts hide eyes more angry than sleepy, as if wondering why the hell they are up this early once again.
As the sun rises over the rolling hills, a maintenance man idles in a van nearby. He parks outside Cushing Academy's basketball court and waits for their phone call each morning. The headmaster has agreed to open the gym this early just for them each morning.
Two runners jog along the rolling hills behind them, fluorescent vests fending off dusk and silence.
"This old couple," Kaleb Joseph says after managing to grumble hello. "They're out every morning."

Franklin Howard Named to Mary Kline Classic Roster (PS; Waters)
SU Could Have As Many as 4 in the game
Frank Howard, a highly-rated prospect in the Class of 2015 who recently committed to Syracuse University, has been added to the Mary Kline Classic roster.
Howard, a 6-foot-5 guard at Paul VI High School in Fairfax, Va., chose Syracuse over Maryland, Georgetown, Virginia, Ohio State and North Carolina State last month.
The Mary Kline Classic will take place on Saturday, May 31, at West Orange (N.J.) High School. The event features two games — one for high school seniors who will be in college next fall and a second for high school underclassmen. Howard will participate in the underclassmen game.

Faceoffs Again Played a Huge Role in an SU Lax Loss
Women's Lacrosse: SU Falls to Maryland 15-12 in NC Final (TNIAAM; Keeley)
Alas, it simply wasn't meant to be. The Maryland Terrapins were the best team in women's lacrosse all season long and that wasn't about to change, no matter what the Syracuse Orange threw at them.
SU lost for the third time this season to the Terps, and the third time overall, in a 15-12 defeat in the National Championship game on Sunday. A quick 5-0 start by Maryland was too much to overcome despite late-game attempts and the Orange will have to settle for being No. 2 in the nation for the second time in three years.
