Date Set for Syracuse-St John's Game at Carrier Dome (PS; Waters)
The Syracuse Orange will face former Big East Conference rival St. John's on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Carrier Dome.
A source confirmed the date of the game Monday. Time and television information were not available.
Syracuse and St. John's were two of the Big East's original members. The two schools have played each other 88 times, with Syracuse leading the all-time series 51-37.
After Syracuse left the Big East to join the Atlantic Coast Conference following the 2012-13 season, the two schools agreed to a home-and-home series. The series began last season with Syracuse beating St. John's, 68-63, at Madison Square Garden.

Christian White, who helped Aquinas reach the NYSPHSAA Class AA final as a senior, is making the move from Monmouth to Syracuse, where he'll sit next season and then have two years of eligibility left.
White was one of four underclassmen Monmouth announced in April were leaving the program, coached by former Binghamton great King Rice.
The 5-foot-10 White played sparingly in 16 games last winter after a promising freshman season in which he played in 28 games, averaged 3.5 points a game and hit on a team best 42 percent of his 3-point attempts.

CJ Continues Whirlwind Schedule of Workouts Prior to NBA Draft (PS; Waters)
If it's Monday, then this must be Utah.
Business travelers know the feeling of waking up in a hotel room and not knowing for a moment what city they're in. That's the way it is these days for C.J. Fair.
Fair, the former Syracuse University forward, is in Utah today to work out for the Utah Jazz. Today's session will be the fifth workout for an NBA team in the last eight days for Fair.
The NBA will hold its annual draft on June 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Fair is considered a likely second-round pick, although there is some buzz that his performances in the pre-draft workouts might have him rising on some teams' draft boards.

Where Will ESPN Rank JB? (PS; Waters)
Over the past few weeks, the folks at ESPN have been counting down their rankings of the top 50 college basketball coaches.
It's not a strict ranking of the coaches based on the coaches' resumes. The ranking is more of a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately take on the top coaches in the college game.
Nos. 25 to 50 in one bulk listing. Since then, they've been taking one coach a day. The latest was No. 16 on Friday with North Carolina's Roy Williams. Think about that. A guy with two NCAA titles came in 16th.

MCW Appears on Jimmy Kimmel's 'Mean Tweets' (PS; Carlson)
Michael Carter-Williams enjoyed a breakthrough first season in the NBA.
He averaged 16.7 points with the Philadelphia 76ers, quieting critics who thought he needed another year in the college. He won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. And on Sunday, in perhaps his greatest honor, he appeared among an all-star cast on Jimmy Kimmel's show (well, almost an all-star cast. ... sorry Kris Humphries).
In the segment, athletes read some of the most ridiculous things fans tweet at them, an effort to showcase the absurdity of Twitter and ludicrousness of sports fans in one crazy combination, while taking the sting out of the silliest comments.
Carter-Williams' selected tweet was one of the tamer ones in the segment, focusing on his play instead of his physical characteristics.
"Michael Carter-Williams is all hype," he read. "Dude is straight-up awful."

JB on Pairing Melo and LeBron: 'They Should be a Good Fit' (PS; Ditota)
Jim Boeheim admits he has "no idea" where Carmelo Anthony will play basketball next season. But the Syracuse coach said his most famous NBA offspring wants to play for a contender and believes Anthony could seamlessly share the spotlight with LeBron James as a teammate.
Boeheim spoke during a Friday interview that included several topics. Anthony's status with the New York Knicks generates daily speculation about where he might land. Persistent rumors have shipped him to Chicago, Houston or Miami. Anthony met with Phil Jackson on Friday to discuss his future in New York. He has until June 23 to inform the Knicks whether he'll exercise his $23.3 million player option for the 2014-15 season, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported.
Anthony turned 30 on May 29.
