SU Cancels Contract with Sports Marketer IMG (PS; Tobin)
Syracuse University has terminated its multi-million dollar agreement with the sports marketing colossus, IMG.
The reasons are not clear. IMG's multi-media rights contract with SU had extended through the 2020-21 season.
The school sent a letter to sponsors last week, notifying them that SU's contract with IMG was terminated July 1. The letter said SU is exploring its sports marketing options, including partnering with another company, negotiating a new agreement with IMG, or doing the work itself.

A pane of glass suddenly plummeted from the abandoned Addis building to the sidewalk today and nearly struck a pair of pedestrians.
The pane fell from a third-story window of the former department store building and shattered in the center of the sidewalk on South Salina Street about 1:40 p.m.
"Oh my God, that nearly hit me," said a woman walking by when the glass fell.
The building at 449-453 S. Salina St. was taken over in March by the Greater Syracuse Land Bank. At least nine windows on the front of the building have no glass.

Denny Murray, Former ESM Pitching Great, Appears on The Bachelorette (PS; Herbert)
"The Bachelorette" Andi Dorfman is zeroing in on a potential soul mate, and one of the lucky finalists has ties to Central New York.
Monday night's episode of the ABC reality series showed Andi visiting the hometowns of the four remaining suitors: Chris, Marcus, Nick and Josh. Josh's last name is Murray, as in former East Syracuse-Minoa pitching phenom Dennis Murray, and sports runs pretty big in their family -- as Andi quickly found out.
Dennis, who went by "Denny" in his ESM years, graduated high school in 1978 and reportedlyplayed football and basketball at Cornell University, but excelled at baseball at Florida International University. He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1983 but never made it in Major League Baseball and ended up relocating to Tampa, Florida.
