Beer Technology
Will the Carrier Dome Pick Up the Latest Sporting Event Trend and Install Self-Serve Beer? (PS; Carlson)
Self-serve beer will be one of the biggest attractions at baseball's All-Star Game at Target Field, according to a report by ESPN's Darren Rovell.
All-Star weekend in Minnesota will include the debut of DraftServ, a self-serve beer station. While the self-serve technology has been used at bars in major cities, it appears to be the first time it had made its way into a sporting event.

The machine allows customers to pour their own beer and pay for it from a pre-loaded card.
"It's a way to engage with the customer and allows the fan to have greater control of what they're drinking," said Jerry Jacobs Jr., principal of Delaware North. "There's obviously some novelty value to this, but it also allows people to pour what they want. If they want half of a cup, that's all they will pay for.

Schools Killing It Recruiting So Far for 2015 Class (BR; CBSSports.com)
Wednesday marks the beginning of the July live recruiting period, a three-week stretch where coaches from colleges across the country will follow and evaluate potential prospects from coast-to-coast. From Las Vegas and Augusta to Chicago and Louisville, thousands of high school basketball players will take part in a long list of events – and coaches will watch every second of it.
It can get a little confusing, so we're here to prepare you.
First, let's take a look at a handful of schools that are well positioned heading into the live period. Some of these schools have received commitments from several players, while others have landed their main target and can relax just a bit for the class of 2015.
Syracuse: Jim Boeheim loves getting things done early in the process, and the Orange already have four commits from the class of 2015. The biggest prize is swingman Malachi Richardson, an excellent scorer from Trenton Catholic (N.J.). Another top-100 wing is Franklin Howard, and while he has been recovering from a knee injury, he's a good athlete who can score. Syracuse also landed commitments from two top-75 frontcourt prospects in Moustapha Diagne and Tyler Lydon. Diagne is a physical force in the post, while Lydon is a versatile forward who can make shots from the perimeter. The Orange don't have any scholarships remaining, but they still have some targets.

SU Basketball: Each Projected Starter's Most Concerning Flaw (BR; Neuman!)
The 2014-15 Syracuse basketball team will be far from perfect.
Head coach Jim Boeheim will have to replace three of his top four scorers, and he will be starting his fourth different point guard in four years. If the young players are able to make improvements, the team has the potential to be dangerous by March. But there will be no 25-0 start this year.
But what improvements do Boeheim's big guns need to make to turn the team into a contender? Before we get to that, we need to sort out who will be the featured players. Just who will end up starting?
If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it will end up being Kaleb Joseph, Trevor Cooney, Tyler Roberson, Chris McCullough and RakeemChristmas. Michael Gbinije will likely be used as a sixth man because of his versatility.

Arinze Ounaku (19)
Donte Greene Guards Mitch McGary
Arinze Onuaku, Donte Greene See Action in NBA Summer League Games (PS; Ditota)
Once on the verge of potentially making the Brooklyn Nets roster before a broken ankle waylaid those plans, Donte Greene continues to try to impress the organization during the NBA Summer League in Orlando.
Greene, who played professionally in China last season, looks broader and thicker via the NBA TV feed. Now 26, he no longer resembles the lithe, some might say "skinny" forward who arrived on the Syracuse University campus in the fall of 2007.
Greene, wearing No. 55, started the game for the Nets, played 16 minutes, scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting. He blocked two shots and did not collect a rebound in the Nets 98-84 loss to Oklahoma City on Monday night. The Nets are 1-2 in Summer League play.

Jerami Grant's NBA Summer League Uniform Number Has Meaning (PS; Waters)
Jerami Grant, the former Syracuse University forward who is now a rookie with the Philadelphia 76ers, is wearing a very unusual number while playing in the NBA's Summer League in Orlando.
Grant's jersey number is No. 39. It's a number rarely seen, but it carries a lot of meaning.
Grant expected to be selected in the first round of the NBA draft when he decided to leave Syracuse after his sophomore season. Grant, a 6-foot-8 forward, had averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Orange this past season. He was viewed as a prospect with a lot of athleticism and potential, but his offensive skills were raw.
On draft night, Grant slid into the second round of the draft. Philadelphia finally took him with the 39th overall pick. Hence, the number 39.
