So, if DT is correct, he's stating that Noel Mazzone and Houston Nutt were turned away after expressing interest in the position. Just gauging how the board feels about this.

Nutt's done some good things in the past.

Mazzone's offense is at the least interesting. No HC exp.

This tells me we're at least not reaching.

mazzone would've been fine but too attached to mcf***it and bubble screens. tough sell, papers would've been all over that and they can do better. but i would've been ok with it. we can and probably will do a lot worse

nutt NO

Never been a Nutt fan. 6-6 would be the goal, some good wins and followed by a bad loss.

Interesting, the Coordinator with no HC Exp getting the early love over the proven commodity.

Just to have this out there, I don't really like either candidate myself.

I'd like Mazzone in a OC role, not that he'd ever come here for it. It's just a huge red flag to me when I see a guy getting up around 50/60 whose spent the majority of his time as a position coach.

So up and comers what no part of us, retreads are all over us. sigh

That can be read a different way. Older coaches might see what young guys don't. Could work in reverse too, of course.

Eddie O, Nutt etc showing interest in the Syracuse coaching job. This is NOT a bad thing by any means. People are intelligent enough to know that we are a sleeping giant in the east right now. Time to wake this bastard up and start taking names.

If youre talking about Scott frost?

Do you think UCF is a better long term program or the best avenue to get to his goal (nebraska)?

Look at the philosophy that lots of schools are using now. They are hiring fast successful mid major coaches. The Utah's, the Bowling Greens, the Memphis', etc... And as that happen the teams in those conferences are very cyclical. It is becoming easier to win sooner at those schools and then move along.

This was strictly a by the book gameplan for Frost. We just dodged a huge bullet, but there is nothing to see here as far as up and comers want nothing to do with us.

And keep in mind all of this started with a baseless rumor from Reddit. That's like saying to this day the Scoop was point shaving. We have no idea how interested we were in Frost outside of maybe an initial interview.

Dino Babers is my guy. He'll be too old to leave us in 3 years but he's young enough to give us 10 good years.

Tortora can be a little wacky, but he has definitely posted some accurate insider stuff before our other local media from time to time.
Yes. He had Ash before anyone else.

Hey that one time in the 90's we got DaCoachO's career back on track so...

It's really hard for AD Coyle to conduct interviews right now with Randy Edsall outside his window.

There are no such things as lifers. Most motivated people want to climb the ladder, whether it be internally or through job hopping. The guy has aspirations, and through his eyes, the path of least resistance to success was through USF. If that's the case, SU needs to realize this and offer something else that the USF's of the world can't. More $$$$$$$$$$$$. It remains to be seen if they will do that.

He also floods my twitter with 32 advertisements for his fantasy football podcast every Sunday.

Not 1 tweet, but 32.

And he has a ton of religious tweets. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

1st of all, its uCf... not uSf.

2nd, I dont think money had much to do with it. my guess is we'll find out he isn't going to making all that much.

I'd be amazed if it's under $2M. Probably incentive heavy though.

Remember guys, UCF has realignment in their sites, B12. They may use this opportunity to go ALL IN for football, like they did when Bortles was around, and boom, get scooped up in the next round of realignment.
