'Twas the night before kick off
And all through the house
Not a word was spoken to even their spouse.
Jerseys were worn by the fans with care,
With the excitement that college game day would soon be there...
The players were all nestled snug in their beds,
Visions of a national championship danced in their heads,
And the fans ready their colors and get out their caps,
All are ready for that first season snap.
When across all the campuses there rose such a clatter,
The fans gather on the grounds to see what was the matter.
The smell of fresh grass and tailgates fill the air,
Everyone ready to see how their team fairs.
The stadium fills from high to low,
It's time to get ready and start the show.
To the top of the scoreboard to the top of the polls,
Now offense and defense and special teams lets roll.
College football, oh what a sight, So Happy Gameday to all and to all good night.
