On Sportscenter this morning...

(1) James Harrison leg pressed 1000 lbs.

(2) Baylor's Shawn Oakman jumped onto a 40 inch box from a standstill start. Oh, minor detail, he was holding 70 lb dumbbells in each hand.

I guess we'll be seeing a lot of those box jumps with dumbbells videos this summer.

leg presses are for sissys

#2 sounds insane.

Vince McMahon should have Oakman on speed dial after hes done at Baylor with a big offer. Guy just looks the part of future WWE star

I was thinking, "Sheeeeet, I can probably do that right now." (Edit: Pats self on back.) Then I read the "minor detail". (Sheepishly walks away with head held low.)

Just wanted to point out that, to me, it looks like he was holding two 35lb dumbbells, for 70 lbs total. That said, it's still very impressive and nothing I could do, with our without the dumbbells.

Leg pressing 1k is nothing, honestly. Most of our guys can probably do that, I used to get a few reps in over 1000 back in HS

Oakman actually did a box jump holding 70 pounds. 35's in each hand...which is still massively difficult.

I agree. I'm not a big guy at all and can do over 700. I'd be more surprised if someone like Harrison couldn't do 1,000.
