DC Justin Wilcox and LB coach Peter Sirmon to Washington. HC Derek Doley if he is changing coaches OK, if short timer could Coach Adkins be interested in Vol appointment. His family lives their still. Probably nothing...

No way. Dooley is on thin ice and will probably be out of the job next year. Recruits are bailing. Adkins ain't goin there.

People worry about very replaceable assistants here way too much, when wheat or shafer leave then that is an issue, other than that just part of the business.

Adkins can leave if he wants...he's a dime a dozen type line coach

I don't know, it would give use three open slots for coaches, and any one of them could provide us with the same or more in the recruiting area of the job

The better question : any coaches we can or should poach from them?

Yes I know Dooley is on thin ice, the next group of coaches my want Adkins. And people amaze me when they make statements they know nothing about, like Adkins dosen't do much, he is easily replaced. Very few D1 players are from Tennessee, Adkins recruits the whole south east---does anyone know if its Adkins, who discovers w/ conections the GA players but sents the closers in to land them. We can't be sure how valuable or important anyone is but blog speak is check and easy. (Its easy to be clueless and not know it)

Adkins is a solid recruiter especially in the GA and FL areas...losing him would hurt and he would be tough to replace

Our O-line has underperformed the past two seasons, Delone off-set it, but we saw what we had without a good running back. Yeah, he has connections in the Southeast, but you're automatically saying we'll never find a coach that can recruit the area as well..if he was that good at recruiting the area he would already be in the SEC. It would help more than hurt if he left because it would allow us to bring in a better line coach (anyone could do that better), and out of the three slots we have available find a coach that has connections to the Southeast. Yeah Cam Lynch is nice and he's my favorite player, but both him and Morris could turn out to be huge busts as well.

What? Cam Lynch is not a bust. Adkins has been good for us recruiting-wise. Get off the hater-wagon.

When did I ever say Cam Lynch was a bust? I said he may turn out to be a bust, huge difference. He has played a total of twelve games (probably less) there is no way you can say he is going to turn out good or bad. We badly needed LB's and he stepped in to fill the need. If it was any other year he wouldn't have seen the field half as much if at all. Two recruits Adkins found, and people are treating it like he's the best recruiter we've ever had. At the OL position I would rather have a guy that can coach and not recruit for the simple fact that it is the hardest position to coach and develop outside of QB. The two most important positions, and we have two coaches that have not done any sort of development in three years...

The way Cam Lynch played this year already proved he won't turn out to be a bust. He will only get better.

Adkins also landed Curtis and Parris.
