But I'm not used to the team having an inspiring start, so I feel compelled to revert to my natural state of being overly upset and/or worried about something, particularly if that something isn't rooted in reality.

You must be new here (I kid!). We used to regularly start seasons 10-0 or 11-1 for about a 20-25 year span, we had an ungodly record in holiday tournaments like Maui, Great Alaskan Shootout, Pre-Season NIT. We won a tournament in Vegas in 1997. We won in the Bahamas about 8-9 years ago. We won the Maui Invitational each of the first three times we played in it.

We owned Nov. and December and some attributed that to JAB’s Zone, but many, many of those wins came prior to 1995.

I believe that right until the end JB never lost a pre season tournament after the Great Alask Shootout ( some crazy stat like that)
