UB hired Lance Leipold, HC who built Wisconsin White Water into a D-3 power. Live in Buffalo and casually follow UB, no real rooting interest though. I think this is a great hire. Guy is young and offensive minded. Can recruit for MAC talent. UB has made some nice athletic hires recently. Wish they'd just call themselves buffalo and not NY State U.

Wish another NY university would make a bold hire for a young offensive minded coach with head coach expirence.

But hey our offensive guy was in the top 50 a lot of the time.

I wouldn't mind playing buffalo in the next few years

Looks like an interesting hire.
BTW - We have one as an OC and that hasn't been going so well thus far. Stay tuned.

Asking because I truly don't know. Is Elmherst (where Lester + Allen are from) even close to the level of White Water? I can say WW always seems to be winning championships. Never heard of Elmherst before Lester.

Interesting hire, but the guy is 50. Not too young. :) Still, would love to go after any of Rod Carey, PJ Fleck or Matt Campbell.

You're right. Not young, not old.

I'm real interested in those 3. PJ Fleck the most. Good eastern ties through time at Rutgers. Campbell has always won so him second and don't love Rod Carey.

106 -6 record. Might be great at UB. Guy really knows how to build a winning program.

Well they did play in the NC the 2 years before he was promoted to the job. Definitely kept the ball rolling.

Top 50 of 300 is pretty good.

You're right. We should stay away from guaranteed wins for purposes of the CFP.

That's not what I was trying to say. Like many posters have said before, SU does not benefit from playing UB. All it does is help legitimize UB.

Also god forbid SU lays an egg and Licata wins. The meltdown on this board would be earth shaking.
