UCF completes the pass with 33 to go.. call a TO? run a play ? nope they spike it.. they score on 3rd down but threw away a play with plenty of time on the clock..

UL - you let UCF drive the field you have 3 To's your D is all over the field out of place.. lucky for them UCF spikes it.. 3 TO's with 30 secs left.. use one try to get set... they use it after the spike..

two coaches making millions acting like HS coaches.

Agree 1000%, was thinking the same thing while it was happening. Absolutely horrendous clock management by both coaches, No idea what UCF was doing spiking the ball there.

Spiking the ball was absolutely the correct thing to do.3 downs to go from the 4 yd line and now you can run the ball once with a timeout in your pocket. Don't understand why that isn't obvious.

They have a timeout and have been passing the ball all over Lville, why leave anytime for them?

because they had a first down with 30+ secs to go from the 5. they had plenty of time to line up and run a play. they needed a touchdown . they ran on 2nd down and threw on 3rd down.. so they had one less play to score than they should have... they could have taken 10-15 secs to get a play in and still gotten off 4 plays..

im not saying they should have used the TO, that was just an option. spiking was not the option they should have used.

Yours is not wrong either but to call O Leary a HS coach because the kid spiked the ball to reset the next series with plays and time left from the 4 yard line is over the top. Very well played in my opinion.

there were 38 seconds left. The clock stops on the 1st down until the ref sets the ball. They were all lined up when the ref set the ball. they could have just run a play that would have taken at most 7-8 seconds off the clock. If you end up short of the goal line, call the TO and you still have 3 shots at the end zone. I agree with uperdeck too much time left to waste a down with the spike.
