I love love love the improvement of our Orange defense this year. Terrific work! That said, we've played 4 complete games without our defense forcing a turnover. Yes, our offense (Dungey!) has forced more turnovers in that span than the D. The squad's turnover margin in those 4 games is -6 (w/ Dungey: -5).

Sure, SU's been a tad unlucky in there, a (precious) few fumbles we did not recover, R.Williams dropped "INT" 2 weeks ago at Miami. But the point remains.

Hopefully, the dam breaks tomorrow and SU gets a few short fields to work with.

FSU is the worst team in the ACC when it comes to forcing turnovers. They don't even average 1/game. Meanwhile they turnover the ball more than 2x/game this season and over the past 2 games they've averaged 3x/game. Meanwhile we've faced four ACC teams that are amongst the top 6 in the ACC at not losing the ball. Clemson, Miami and NC St all average less than 1 TO per game or less.

you can force mistakes on D or you can make mistakes on O.. often its bit of both.. we dropped 2 INTs last game and Miami recovered a botched snap. FSU lost the UL game on an unforced fumble and gave the ball away last week too. of the 4 INTS miami made a good play on 1 and ED made some awful decisions on others. QBs have not been making bad decisions as of late so that limits chances for INTs. it would be nice to cause a fumble or too one day soon though.

Is the way we tackle part of it? In previous years I swear we were focusing on causing turnovers more than tackling some times. This year I have seen great discipline in tackling by our defense. Bring the man down rather than try to strip the ball. Did I dream that up or is that possible?
