Under the Radar

If Syracuse is eligible for post-season play next year I don't get why he would consider leaving. I know people will say G will lose money if he stays. However, every former Cuse player that goes over to Europe talks about how there's nothing like playing at the Carrier Dome. Also, after his recent struggles the argument that his stock will never be higher is out the window. He's to hoping G returns.

Shouldn't bother me, but saying G is the engine that drove Syracuse and to intimate he would be the third candidate behind Okafor and Grant kind of suggest this author hasn't watched much Cuse hoops this year, doesn't it?

We know G will have his degree and will be old by college basketball standards next year, but is there any other reason to believe he won't be back other than speculation?

What position would Mike play at the next level? He seems too small to actually play forward, and doesn't seem like his shot is good enough to be a two. He might be decent defending at the 2, but I can't imagine him defending other point forwards like Lebron. I don't know.

No

Do we actually know this? I've seen it said here numerous times, but I have no clue if it's been verified at all independently.

I mean, this is kind of a really big deal because this will give Mike freedom (if the rule is still the same) to go wherever he wants to that has a grad program that SU might not have, correct?

Of course it is speculation, but
Duke enrollee (smart)
Ineligible year (no travel, time to work)
Summer school 3 years (extra classes)

All signs point to a degree.

So, no, we don't actually "know" this. Gotcha. That's all I was asking.

Yeah, it's all speculation. There's nothing else about this season to speculate on, so on to next season. JAB is talking tremendous change, so where (who) will this change occur? There are only 13 scholarships to talk about and four are spoken for by 2015 recruits. So that leaves 9 spots. After Cooney, Roberson, and McCullough (leaving 6 spots), it's pretty much open as to who will be on the roster next season. Coleman might not play high level basketball again, who knows. Five spots that are still iffy. Kaleb seems to be in and out of the doghouse depending on the time of day. Ron, well, love his effort, but the results have certainly not been there. BJ is talented but so young and small. Gbinije seems like a safe bet to be guaranteed minutes next season, but stranger things have happened in the past for sure. Chino is a question mark, but no one knows enough about him to even comment on.

Until May or so, there's 4 players to really talk about.
