I hesitate to bring this up, (but have obviously decided to do so anyway), but we first changed our uniforms from the way they had been in the MacPherson-Pasqualoni Era in 2005:

And the 10-37 Greg Robinson Era commenced.

Doug Marrone came on board and we returned to something resembling the old look and went to three bowls games winning all of them:

Now we've changed the uniforms again and things seem to be falling apart.

Coincidence? Hmmmm...

We're gonna need an entire season of completely orange uniforms to offset the imbalance of mojo.
Like this? How many did we win in these orange unis?

These uniforms are a dumpsterfire. When I see them on TV, I don't think Syracuse football. We had a semblance of tradition. Now we have another set of uniforms that will just change in a few years. Does anyone really think that these have any longevity in them?

No.

You did not mention the early Maloney years with the white helmets, white pants and orange jerseys.

BYU dumped their traditional uniforms and the program tanked.

They brought back their traditional look and the program is once again very competitive.

There is something to be said for holding onto a look that is associated with or connotes success.

The traditional Coach Mac uniform - very close to the traditional Coach Ben uniform - coincided with tremendous success on the field.

I say there is some kind of mojo.

And we need a lot of it now.

Point taken, although the best of Ben's years where when we were white at home as well as on the road. I prefer the blue home jerseys, though.

I actually preferred the white at home.

But that look - used by McPherson, Pasqualoni and Marrone on the road - and the blue jerseys at home are the standard of success at Syracuse University.

Don't forget what happened last basketball season that ended the streak...

As I said in a prior post, when a school keeps changing it's uniforms, it has always seemed to me that they were searching for an identity. Oregon turned it into something else but they did it with Phil Knight's fortune behind them. And they never really had an identity before, at least not one the nation could see. So their "quick change" look became their identity. We had one and junked it.

You said it better than I have tried to say it.

Teams with a well-known identity - Penn State, Auburn, Texas, USC, Alabama, Michigan - don't need to do what Oregon needed to do.

And despite what some might think, Syracuse University Football has had a strong identity for years.

There was no need to mess with it.

Not sure I care for all the changes we've seen. What is the consensus on last week's updated look of an early 80's uniform: blue jersey, white pants, orange helmet?

The problem is that the blue unis are totally different from the white and grey ones. So when you mix and match blue jersey and white pant, they look exactly that - Mismatched

We must lead the ncaas in uniform discussions. That said, those unis on Saturday were a clown show.

Maybe this explains are undisciplined play? We are too worried about which uniform combo we will go with.

Good luck getting Nike to make orange uniforms possibility 0

if you go with mojo we go back to what we wore vs nova this week and I am also changing up my wardrobe at the game since I wore the same thing for Maryland and louisville

We look like idiots, i hear from friends who have no skin in the Syracuse game telling me this constantly. Not sure why we play this game of uniform changing on a yearly basis. The hoops team is more progressive in this regard and people assume they will switch up uniforms. The football team is alligned closer to the traditional teams.

It's amazing how many mistakes this university makes with simple decisions. Retiring 44, insane. Changing uniforms yearly, moronic, etc.

One thing is assured: beating the uniform issue to death every week is not helping our collective mental health mojo.
