Assuming that the report of the investigation completed by B,S & K isn't going to leave the University with egg on its face, doesn't the University need to release it now in order to try to establish why they felt that inaction was the appropriate course following the investigation? Given Laurie's alleged involvement and/or knowledge, the their accuser etc. I'm beginning to wonder how that report didn't find enough smoke to warrant some action at the time.

Its just as hard to believe they didnt have the tape...

I would tend to believe that Davis was not forthcoming about the tape in '02 and '05...either he forget or could not find it or it hadnt been made yet. Under any of these the University, JB, Police, etc are off the hook. There is no reason to have hidden the tape until now...bizarre

Hard to believe they didn't have the tape and they didn't, as well as the proper authorities, pursue it any further.
